FT. LAUDERDALE, FL -- North Shore Medical Center FMC Campus, a 459-bed acute care hospital, recently hosted a complimentary heart fair for the community. The event took place in the auditorium on the hospital’s Ft. Lauderdale campus, and drew more than 200 attendees from all over Broward County.
The event included complimentary screenings including BMI, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Diabetes and Stroke Risk. Attendees were able to pick up literature on living a heart healthy lifestyle and speak with cardiac specialists and other healthcare professionals. Additionally, the event featured lectures from two of North Shore Medical Center FMC Campus’ heart health professionals. Dr Lou Isaacson of the Emergency Department spoke on recognizing the signs of chest pain and heart attack and Anthony Vito, Stroke Coordinator lectured on being aware of one’s own stroke risks.
“The heart fair is one of the most popular and well-attended events we offer here at North Shore Medical Center FMC Campus,” said Ben Rodriguez, Chief Administrative Officer. “As a community hospital, we are committed to keeping the public informed of the latest information and treatment options for staying heart healthy.”
